Download On May 6, Belgium hosted the largest Balinese festival held outside of Indonesia.
The Ogoh-Ogoh festival features giant Balinese puppets and traditionally marks Nyepi, or Balinese New Year – a day marked by silence on the island of the gods.
The event was held in Pairi Daizi Park, a former monastery turned international cultural park.
Ging Ginanjar joined Balinese from all over Europe at the unique festivities.
Download The Baisakhi Festival is a three-day celebration for the Sikh community around the world – it marks the religion’s founding, the Sikh New Year, and the harvest season.
Sikhism began over 500 years ago in Punjab – regarded as the Sikh homeland in South Asia.
But Punjab is now divided between India and Pakistan, and the holy shrine of Gurdawa Panja Sahib is on the Pakistani side.
Each year thousands of devotees come to Pakistan to visit the shrine for the festival.
Pakistani authorities deploy more than 1,000 security personnel to make sure Sikhs can celebrate in peace.

Download Burma is celebrating Aung San Suu Kyi’s win in last weekend’s by-elections.
Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy party won 43 out of 45 seats contested.
But only around six per cent of parliamentary seats were up for grabs – leaving the military still in control.
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations marked the event by calling for international sanctions on Burma to be lifted, to help the democratic process.
The United States has announced it will further ease sanctions against Burma, while European Union leaders had said earlier that they would consider taking similar steps.
Since the political transition began in 2010, Burma’s government has impressed observers with the pace of change – it’s released many political prisoners and relaxed media restrictions.
But the real test comes now – as Suu Kyi’s small minority tries to promote deeper reforms in Parliament.
As Nay Thwin reports, the hopes of Burma’s people are now higher than ever.

Download Ask any Filipinos about the wonders of the world and they will proudly name the Rice Terraces.
5,000 feet above sea level in the country’s north, the hand-carved terraces are locally dubbed the “eighth wonder of the world”.
They’ve been listed in UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites since 1995 – but they’ve also been on the World Heritage Endangered List for more than 10 years now.
Severe drought, flooding, erosion and neglect are ruining the terraces.
Now tourists are being invited to become ‘warriors’ in saving this world heritage site.
Madonna Virola travels up the winding mountain roads to visit.
